Star Alliance Status

Hi All,

Later in the year I'll be flying SQ to LHR return but just on a Y ticket. I'll earn about 20,000 miles or so.

Am I right, from what I read in here, that I can join Agean Air and reach gold (and therefore Star Alliance Gold) status on that many points by quoting my Agean number rather than Krisflyer number?

And can I then use transfer those points later back to SQ for SQ use?

Points cannot be transferred between Star Alliance frequent flyer programs.

If you want easy status, earn in Aegean. If you want better value redemptions, put your miles somewhere else.

Also, double check your booking class. Singapore Airlines don't give points on every fare for every Star Alliance frequent flyer program.
