Hi all
I am flying Air Canada on a flight from Orlando, US to Vancouver via Toronto. I have Star Alliance Gold through Kris Flyer and I am Velocity Platinum. I would like the status credits to go to Velocity, as I do not think I have any chance of maintaining the Kris Flyer Gold (status matched). However, I would like to "use" my Star Alliance Gold to get priority check in and the free first checked in bag. If my Velocity number is on the Air Canada booking, will they still recognise my Star Alliance status?
If my Kris Flyer number is on the booking, can I direct my status credits to Velocity via my KrisFlyer account?

I hope this makes sense. Any assistance appreciated.

Air Canada is a bit stubborn like Air NZ, they may insist that the airline you get the points with is also the one the benefits come from. Regardless the best approach is to make sure the Velocity number is on the booking (as this is where you want to earn the miles), then approach the *G check in desk and ask for your bags to be checked in under the *G free bag using the SQ card.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
