It was later on Friday in Perth so I guess they needed my money more than I did. Westpac and St George are pretty much the same computer.

I just looked and even though the BPAY was Friday evening Westpac debited the transfer as Monday.so they didn’t have the money for 3 days like I was thinking.

Westpac may own St. George but it's run as a separate bank.

The cut-off time would be based on the time on the East Coast.

Yep. they have never integrated their systems which is one of the reasons they struggle with significant upgrades for things like NPP and Comprehensive Credit reporting.

The funds arrived for Mrscove next day as I sent that money before the eastern states cut off time. So I am sweet with what I needed to pay. Had not realized that Westpac had not merged the computer systems even though the acquisition was years ago.
Mrscove received her CC under the $139 deal whereas mine was earlier at $279.

I just signed up to this, using the Pointshack link of $139. however on the paperwork received it still says $279. I haven't called them up just yet, as the charge has not yet hit my credit card. Should I be worried?

Rack up another who has spent their 5k in the first month and have just received my 2nd statement with no 90k points still.

No. If you read through the thread you'll find that happened to others as well.

Out of all the banks, St George would have to be the most prudent in regards to posting the bonus points (apart from last year where it seems by comments in another thread that they were late posting them). Why other banks post the bonus points way before their T&C's state is beyond me.

While people say that they won't use the card after they've completed the required spend, I think it's fair to say that a few still will given that the card must remain open until the bonus points post. The more people spend on it the more money St George recoup from fees. So, it would make sense to wait the stated period before posting the bonus points as it gives the banks business unit the best chance of recouping costs (or even generating a profit) from issuing the card.

I've often thought the same thing, but still makes for a frustrating wait - particularly if you are adamant you aren't going to spend any further and file the card until points post.

Frustrating sure, but that's the terms of the offer and you did agree to them when you applied!

No doubt and I accept that even wondering why other providers don't do the same thing as meandered above, however it does contrast to an extent with other providers.

My 90K bonus points came through last week. I hit the min spend in one transaction first week I had the card, St George waited for the 3rd month to give the points.

This card is a keeper for me and is now my "go to" card for non Amex purchases. I save as Amplify points and sweep to KF. In a little over 6 months Mrs C and I accumulated enough points to book 2xJ on SQ to EU for June 2019 (we have 3M QFF points but just can't seem to find the availability on QF that I've so easily found on SQ).

Similar story for us coriander but we do have two First class tickets to LAX on a QF redemption. I like the warehousing and the 10% birthday bonus.

If you have QF WP/P1 status you can ring up and ask for seats to be released on QF operated flights. You may be unsuccessful but it is worth a try.

Sometimes seats on QF's partner airlines such as Emirates can become available fairly close to the departure date.

Still waiting for my sign up bonus. Hope I'll get it with my next statement. The other QFF earning Visa/MC card I've got as well has a lower points earn per dollar spent (and I've already made the required spend on that card too) so I may keep the St. George longer than I otherwise would have.

I am trying to sign up the the St George Qantas 90k offer using the Pointhacks affiliate link but I am having difficulties completing the application. I think there is a website glitch because I have tried to complete the application on multiple browsers and computers but the same issue continues to arise. The issue occurs right at the start of the application after I have put in my name and email. The next question asks me what card type I want to apply for (Qantas Signature) but the drop down box does not have any options to select. Can you please advise because I keep getting stuck at this part of the application and it wont let me move forward until i have selected which card I am applying for but it gives me nothing to select.
