Email tonight saying that my application had been approved and cards would be received within 5 to 10 days.

Seems me getting a rocket up them earlier today worked.

Applied 18/10. Card received 27/10. Not great St George.

Gosh that's slow. I applied a few days ago. Was hoping I might get it by the end of this week. Might be wishful thinking.

Very slow. Not impressed.

However when I went into the branch today to set up my PIN and get internet banking organised the staff were extremely helpful.

I also applied 18/10. Eventually I got some free time and called (today). The application was just sitting there because an old and new address didn't match. No calls or emails to let me know. Strange.

Finally received and activated my card. How long are the 30k points taking to come through? Is it a matter of calling up and asking for the qantas club passes, like with ANZ ?

Thanks AFF - applied and instantly approved ("approved subject to verification.") for this one.

Easy process thus far.

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

I had been conditionally approved about 3 weeks ago.

I have been sending docs after docs after docs and they will get back to me in a few more days.

I'm about to throw in the towel for this card.

While not good value the basic card (platunum) pays points on ATO. Signature is a known quantity for the time being but couldn't find any conclusive evidence on the platinum. Helped me sort out both of the cards I'm running to $1500ea

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

Finally received approval on Wednesday. So it took about 23 days for approval after me calling them every second day to follow-up to see if they needed any additional documents (which they did every second phone call). So far they have been very disappointing and a PIA to deal with. Hopefully from here on in it will be smooth sailing with purchases and me paying their statements in full every month.

I have a very good credit score and still got rejected :(

They said in their letter I'm too high risk :/

Westpac/St George retail bank assessments are not always good so don't let a rejection worry you too much.
Commercially Westpac is ok.

Yippie, finally got card in hand yesterday.

What a marathon!

I had some dramas with mine as detailed earlier in this thread.

But last weekend my partner applied and today the cards arrived!

To get the Qantas lounge passes you have to visit this link and opt in... I was told 4 - 6 weeks on the phone.

St.George

I'm about to hit the spend, will update when I receive the bonus points.

Probably not for much longer when people keep mentioning it on public forums
