Would like to comment our recent flight to Europe flying Sri Lankan Airlines, flew from Singapore to Colombo in J on a new A300, check in went smooth no problems in terminal 3, lounge was very pleasant plenty of hot food and good selection of drinks, boarding was a bit hectic called pax for boarding then a mad rush but as soon as they saw your boarding card in J you were let through without any problems, given champers just after boarding by well groomed FAs . Great seats which had a good recline, plenty of room, food a good selection , 4-5 choices is wine and great service, arrived 30 min late in Colombo to be told our 7hour layover had turned into 12 hr due to our plane being damaged slightly on the Tarmac and they had to bring another in from Kuwait, they put use into a 4 star hotel for the night picking us up first thing the following morning, we were at the airport early and were told were to find the Buisness lounge,it is tempory one as the main one is getting renovated.Boarding our flight to Rome was the same as Singapore ( we're getting used to this now)bit of a crush but we managed, boarded new A300-400 full lie flat beds 24 seat cabin with only 9 pax, they put us straight to bed and we had a good 6 hr sleep arriving in Rome on time , the service, food ,drink were first class, couldn't fault,

Aircraft should be A330?

For reasons of nostalgia alone, I want it to be an A300, complete with tubular headphones as mentioned on other threads. Glad that OP had good flight. Sounds like Sri Lankan will be a welcome addition to OW next year.
