Thanks for the reponses guys. I didn't get a chance to ring SQ Office today (only open till 1730??) so hopefully get a chance tommorow...need to get it sorted as it expires March 1st.

Question though... I would need to cancel my MEL-SIN F booking, how long till points are back in account? I would then use those to pay for the MEL-SIN-HKT J (if it clears) booking. I don't want to transfer miles from Amex/Citibank if I don't need to.

Cheers

I just went to the website to pickup the 24 hr KF number. It does say 17:30 but I know I have used it 24 hrs before. Just ring them on the 02 9350 0203 number.

Hummel I cancelled a Suite Saver 2 weeks ago - had to cancel on phone as SQ web site would not allow me to do so - took 72 hours for pts to redeposit. Cancelling online should see much quicker redeposit - hope that helps.

Edit: Alby was quicker on the draw.

Last time cancelled a booking it took a couple of weeks for the miles to come back. If you are doing this on the phone with an agent perhaps they can do it all in the one transaction as they know you have the miles.

Cheers guys I might give them a buzz tonight.

One more question.. Am i blind or is there nowhere to accept the waitlist? I goto the booking that has apprantly cleared but says it's still not ticketed?

That's a feature that has been missing for a couple of years. You need to call them.

And just to reconfirm, with a recent experience - I spoke to SQ on the 02 9350 0203 at around 9pm Melbourne time this evening.

And just to reconfirm again.. that number work and I just spoke to them, and wow they picked up quick!

They did confirm what I suspected that it is only MEL-SIN confirmed so far.. I really need MEL-SIN-HKT otherwise I'll just keep my suites booking and jump on a JQ SIN-HKT flight.

The one good thing at the moment, it appear I may be the only one in suites with the two middle seats at front row being taken (I read that's always the case) and just myself in 3A.

#firstworldproblems hey!

They always pick up quick :) I don't think I've ever waited more than 60 seconds to speak to someone. Apart from occasional language-barrier issues, the KrisFlyer call centre is really good - not just short wait times, but staff who know what they're doing, are proactive in solving problems, call back if they say they will, etc.

Hummel I have posted about this before - 3A is a left handed drinkers seat - 3C is the seat you want if you are a right handed drinker.

Yes indeed 2C/2D always blanked out - you can easily secure 2C when you check in if you so desire.

Note: Thanks to SQ Suites we now have 2 new abbreviations - LHDs and RHDs

When I was travelling recently in Switzerland none of my connectivity options were cost effective to call the local SQ number. I used Gmail telephone service to ring the USA free call number. It connected to the same Krisflyer call centre and menu. SO, even if the hours of connection from Australia do change, these days it is quite cheap to jump telephone borders.

BTW, If you call the USA regularly, gmail gives free calls to USA landline and mobile numbers.

Hi guys,

My 3rd-option wait-listed SQ flight just came up for confirmation.

If I let it lapse, would that affect my 1st / 2nd-choice waitlisted flights?

Since it is more than 6 months away, I am gaming on the probability that #1 may become available.

Just a hunch / hope / prayer really.

But, would SQ "penalise" me in some ways if I were to let an offer lapse ?

Anyone knows ?

Thanks

Who knows but it wouldn't make business logic to penalise you. They want you to use your points and they want to meet their yield targets. If the availability comes through it would go to the waitlisted order.

Even, your waitlisted bookings are prob separate and once they lapse they disappear after 3(?) days.

Happy waiting!
