Hi all, I would really appreciate some advice re. SQ award redemption and the waitlist system.

We have, under my partner's Krisflyer account (and for the 'old' award prices):
1a) one booking, confirmed business flights MEL-SIN-IST with Singapore and IST-TBS (Tbilisi) with Turkish, flying out Aug 24;
1b) one booking, confirmed business flights TBS-IST-RAK (Marrakech) with Turkish, flying out 1 Sept

Both reservations were done before the award costs were hiked (so 78' vs 86' to fly Aus to Middle East)

We have, under my Krisflyer account (and for the 'new' award prices):
2. Waitlisted business flights MEL-SIN-IST with Singapore, flying out on Aug 31

Now, in the most cost-efficient way (money and points), I would like us to fly MEL-SIN-IST with Singapore on Aug 31 and IST-RAK with Turkish on 1 Sept (first flight out from IST) under the same booking
  • If waitlist clears, can I simply add the IST-RAK leg with TK by calling Singapore?
  • If waitlist clears, is it possible to instead change the date and destination of the confirmed booking that we already have (under my partner's account), to avoid the fees for cancelling an award compared to making changes to an award?
Thanks in advance!
