SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Quick question… for a flight leaving singapore to Australia at 7am, first meal is refreshment, followed by lunch.

What time do they serve the lunch? As in how many hours into the flight/hours before arrival?
Timely post I am on SQ 277 tomorrow and was wondering the same thing. Onboard options for refreshment look meh so will eat in the lounge

SQ and KF can and do close accounts due to inactivity.
Too hard to earn points in KF, even flying VA, with a KF # in the booking, (have to check for eligible class of earn etc, too troublesome).
I am not keen on them anymore, but/and they are good for regular flyers on that their own KF program, but as a non regular SQ flyer, I am not too sad or mad angry.
At least they give notice!

Yair, I could do a hotel stay via Vrooms again, but don't plan to go to SIN.
Or put in my KF# into th he next AirNZ trip.
Off T: (((But I already use my Koru$ in my Air NZ trips for seat selection))).On T.
If I wanted to go to SIN, again, would probably go with Red (our flying Roo) via MEL.

Woohoo! Booked my first F Saver today from MEL-SIN-PVG for 126.5k miles. Only on the 77W but hey, F is F.

There's been regular availability popping up 30 days out from departure from MEL (EDIT at midnight Melbourne-time), and occasionally SYD to SIN too (it seems it may go the other way too).

Can't wait to drink my body weight in Krug, Cristal and Comtes! :)

(A mildly annoying aside, MEL-SIN was not available for rebooking so I had to pay the redeposit fee and rebook. All went well though.)

MELso forget the Cristal - just pray it is not offered on rotation on either flt - Krug is the bees knees 👍
In the name of science, I will be trying all the champagne that's offered... ;)

EDIT Looking at the menus, I have Krug and Comtes on MEL-SIN (and an otherwise fairly uninspired wine list) and Cristal and Bolli Grande Annee on SIN-PVG (with some decent prem cru burgundies to try too).

What do you mean by "not available for rebooking"? Were you planning on booking MEL-SIN-PVG, then cancelling the second SIN-PVG leg?

Basically, I wanted to change my J Saver MEL-SIN-KIX flight to F Saver MEL-SIN-PVG departing three days earlier.

Provided you're looking at flights within 12 months of the initial issue date, you can pay $US25 and basically completely change the ticket. Not this time though; I was told that I can book MEL-SIN-PVG as a new ticket but not as a rebooking. This required me to cancel, pay a $US75 redeposit fee and rebook a completely new ticket.

Anyone have any goss on the SQ lounge at the new WSI airport?
Yeah it’s honestly not a good look or sign that we are merely 4 months away from opening and there’s still been zero word on any lounge arrangements at WSI.

I do have a good idea of what it’ll be if there’s no lounge on opening day lol. Darwin has no lounge, and if you’re travelling in Biz or have *G, then SQ give you a $25 meal voucher, which while better than nothing, still pales compared what a lounge offers and would get swallowed up quickly by inflated airport restaurant prices.

Considering the plane they've put on for their initial flights, I think a SQ lounge is low on the cards.
I wouldn’t say the A359MH is a telling factor, after all Brisbane gets this aircraft 4x a day and they have a pretty nice SKL there. WSI’s problem is more so the 1 piddling flight a day, as well as its relatively remote location and bad public transport options on opening day will likely make it a hard sell to anyone not living in or at least near Western Sydney.

My personal prediction is there will be a Priority Pass style one-size fits all lounge that they will contract, perhaps similar to the Plaza Premium in Adelaide. Little to no chance of an SKL here in my opinion, that luxury remains reserved for SQs actual cash cow route of SYD. And if you think about it, SQ don’t have any SKL’s at outstations which only have 1 flight a day.

Yeah PP style partner lounge will suffice too IMO.

Anyway booked a saver redemption out of WSI for July next year. The SYD ones were mainly wait-listed

Travel time for me is pretty much the same ish to either, being near Parra

Edit: late night flight but positive is don't miss that day of school/work
