Makes sense since SQ said a few days ago that Starlink won't start until 2027 and also still no airtcraft out of service for refits

The product on SQ is still great though, given it's age, flying 3 A350's recently even the older one 9V-SMF which is 9 years old, everything worked perfectly!

Flying a brand new Air France A350 in J, the only real benefit was wireless charging, wireless headphones and a bigger/better quality/HD TV., but I still prefer SQ

Thought I’d jump back to the topic of new biz class as it doesn’t have its own thread, so Q1 2027 is now the target for the first retrofitted A350 to enter service.

I’ve noticed that Sydney has the A350 MH on SQ241/242 until April next year (except September October), then reverts back to A350 LH - could this be a possible sign Sydney could also be one of the first routes to get it? I know it’s only hypothetical but if we look back Sydney was the launch route for the new A380 cabin products unveiled back in 2017.

SQ removed their premium economy from a few weekends flights in July.
We been moved from the ideal 730pm Saturday flight to the 145am Sunday morning flight, sucks eggs with family with 5 & 7yo, going to be tough.
At least nice to fly on the A380 again.

MEL will no doubt be one of the last, we'll probably end up with my 777's at least.... instead of the MH A350's

The next few years of flying will be with EK, as I burn up 3 million QFF points with them on F, and maybe J....

Next SQ flight is in a few days, then December so maybe the new lounge for Xmas will be the highlight of the flights.

Trying to checkin for a flight tomorrow.

Flight booking was made through Amex.

Unable to checkin as the Salutation is missing from my name, and therefore doesn't match my Krisflyer profile.

Rang Amex, they rang back and said they can't update it and to ring Krisflyer... Amex blamed me for not entering the Salutation when booking.. When you make a booking on Amex you can't enter a Salutation..

Rang SQ and got someone in Singapore and was excited, but they said to ring the travel agent that booked it. SQ said they will raise an escalation for review and will call back..

I rang back Amex again for a laugh and they said they can't do it, and if they could it would cost a name change fee and taxes etc get recalculated. They then admitted that back in Nov 24 salutations are no longer required when booking... I asked for a complaint, and was told I don't have one... LOL again

I can only laugh at the incompetence.

I rang Singapore again and asked to have the Salutation removed from my Krisflyer account, and was told they can't do that as it's compulsory.

My issue is, no KF number, no WiFi and then having to do a mileage claim after, which takes time/effort etc.

Can probably fix this easily at checkin and get the to add the KF number, but who knows!

Just a warning for anyone booking through Amex Travel etc

No call back from SQ of course... But I've managed to check-in now.

Can't see any changes to my Salutation in my KF profile.

I haven't had to call SQ for about 2 years, but the number of options to press to speak to someone, and the quality of the recordings is laughable.

I still call them at least every couple weeks and I am sure they change the recoded system every week

Glad you got set though - nobody needs that stress. In all my years I have never used a TA with SQ so have never had not want a similar experience.

Have a paid multi-city booking in J and looking to change 2 of the sectors. Possibly a question with the answer at my finger tips but can someone advise whether the change fee is payable more than once in this scenario? 2x booked into U fare bucket, 2x booked into J fare bucket if that makes a difference.

I sadly have no idea !

I wasted a few hours on the phone and only really confirmed that Amex used to enforce salutations when making bookings, prior to Nov 2024, my last booking with them was May 2024 with had salutations, and my recent one didn't.

I was told by Amex that a salutation doesn't matter - Which of course it doesn't, when flying but when trying to check-in I couldn't keep the KrisFlyer number on my profile.

My first and middle names on the booking, matched up perfectly with my KF profile and it rejected all 3 of us.

I tried several times and always got this.



When trying about an hour after speaking to SQ it worked......

Everyone said just check-in at the counter, but given high loads and and the early flight time, I don't feel like spending another 5-15 mins at the counter while they fiddle or call someone to fix the booking.

Anyways, it's sorted now.... and we actually fly tomorrow, I was a day ahead of myself LOL
