SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I spent an hour with SKL MEL Manager morn of Oct 21 and he quizzed me on my thoughts on 100 diff topics from unisex toilets to draft / draught beer so definitely still in planning stage. TBH I could not care less about an outside view but a live bartender will be a big plus.

Still be best bar experience ever in a lounge was in SIN SKL J T2 before T3 was built - OMG it was just like a serious old time pub

Unisex toilets were originally on the drawing board when SIN SKL T3 was refurbed but it was quashed then so I really don’t know why it is still discussed.

OT but who remembers when VA had the ‘Ladies only’ toilets on the LAX flts? They were truly loved by the ladies.

I hope you knocked this idea on the head.
Can see merit in this in the F lounge. The most pax I’ve seen in there at any given times is 8. Make more sense to have three separate cubicles that anyone can use (one accessible) than separate M and F toilets.

Don’t Polaris Lounges in US have unisex toilets? CA F and J lounges in T2 PVG certainly do and they work perfectly.

As I mentioned above similar were on original SIN SKL T3 design but they never materialised

Any wonder rdpt inventory is kaput?
Update is I have booked MU J MEL-PVG/PVG-MEL for $4.8K - flt timings are excellent 👍

Unless we see significant changes to SQ in 2026 with both rdpt inventory and comm tix prices then party totally over with SQ after 25 years - all good things come to an end huh?

SQ need a 6th daily to MEL ASAP! Even in economy saver awards (and sometime advantage awards) are difficult to come by and comm tix also going through the roof.

Can't seem to find the right search term to get an answer so thought i'd ask here if anyone can help!

I'll be in Singapore soon with my Partner and Mum. Partner and i will be flying to Brisbane in Economy, my Mum will fly to Perth separately in Business. I have Star gold so i know i can take my Partner with me into the Gold Lounge, and i know my Mum can go into the SilverKris Lounge being in Business Class. However i'd prefer if we could be in the same lounge until her flight leaves first, but the PDF doesn't imply if either party can go into different lounges.

Is there a lounge we can all go in together with? Or is it pretty strict?

I'm sure if your mum don't mind slumming it in the Gold lounge then she can join you without any issue.

Haha, okay so they do have a tier system of Lounge. It'll be her first time in a Lounge so i'm sure Gold will be plenty. It's best she's with us too. Thank you!
Both lounges are at least in the terminal I use mostly, close together. I'm sure she could.have a wander into Silver and then report back to you what you are missing!! 😂. Enjoy.

The business class lounge isn't that amazing… it’s ‘ok’ as a lounge, but nothing remarkable. Can be very crowded. They have champagne, which is probably different from the gold lounge, but your mom will get plenty of that on board :) In your situation I’d do the same as you with all three in the gold lounge.

I just looked at a video of the gold lounge… it looks pretty good! Even has a live cooking station like the business lounge.

Yes, the T3 Gold lounge is very good. Better than, say, the QF SYDint J lounge. And, as noted above, the SKL lounge can be very busy and noisy at peak times.
