SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

You would be the only person on the planet that utters such views - the ‘inexperienced’ Crew you refer to could be rostered onto 380 or 777 the next day - all of a sudden they become ‘experienced’.

Crew are ‘rostered’ in all directions - no set batch of ‘learners’ of ‘duds’ saved for 350 Med Haul metal - I have never seen any diff in performance or attitude by Crew across all aircraft

Nope not the only one, quite a few others have explained in this thread reasons why, here is one, just in case you missed it last time :)

Yes, that's right. All crew are trained on the 350 but they have a smaller contingent trained for the B777 and A380. Being older aircraft, most of the crew have been trained on these fleets for many years, so there's a much higher likelihood of senior crew too. And being a smaller pool, there's a greater chance that they know one another. Nowadays, the A350 is the training ground for new crew too, so a lot of crew attention will most likely be devoted to training activities. You're more likely to get a green crew (not referring to the colour of the kebaya).

One of the other complications of the A350 is its galley layout which is not conducive to good service. On the MH, all 40 J passengers are served from the fwd galley which is too small: it's insufficient for plating main courses as well as storing the second refreshment service. Coming from the forward galley also means there are more roadblocks than a central mid galley, though the long-haul variant has this.

I gather it is a point of consternation between the cabin crew and management. Ask any crew onboard and they will tell you that the A350 is their least favourite to work aboard in the fleet.

We are flying from LAX to Singapore and then to Perth. I hope the usual bubbles and caviar are still running.
The temperature will be quite different as Los Angeles is having a real winter.

It’s probably as good as any! The other option would be to take the seat across the aisle. But are they blocked for other pax with infants at this stage? They look like they are available, which is rare to see, or are you PPS?
When I booked the seats - the operator said that I might be moved if the seat is required for other passengers with kids so this was a safer option. Not sure if it’s true?

This may be a tiny tots question solved by some judicious goggling, but I figure someone here will advise quicker and more clearly ...

Can I, and how do I transfer some Krisflyer points to my wife's account ?

100% if bassinet seats reqd to accommodate an infant you will be moved

You can’t - you can add her as a Redemption Nominee but you will then need sufficient pts to redeem a flt on her behalf or buy some pts to top up

Can't transfer between KF accounts. Have read here that you would have to transfer to Velocity acc then to your wife's Velocity acc then she can transfer to her KF account. Never tried it but I think you would burn quite a few points in the process.
