SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I cannot believe SQ would change meal service on 830 SIN-PVG 09:30 from full lunch service as it was for 100 years pre-Covid to bfast service post Covid - even Crew find it had to understand

More feedback coming up 👍

I was given 3 recently (2flights) - all girl bears in green, so maybe the boy ones were all off getting trained as chefs.

I hv never seen a duck, a bear, a chook or anything given out in F or J.. Not that I have a desperate need of one (probly up there with that extra few pairs of pj's that wont get worn), but it does make me wonder if we have to be even more personable with cabin crew or are these little things an on-request item?

Bears are dispensed totally at whim of Crew on the flight - no matter what cabin you are in you are not entitled or guaranteed of one or two - clearly premium cabin pax will be looked favorably apon - requesting will certainly enhance your chances of a YES but there is only limited number loaded each flight.

Interacting with Crew would also enhance chances of prem cabin pax - just don’t get onboard with attitude these crew members are just dumb or uninterested as has been posted earlier in this thread.

There are multiple reports earlier in this thread where R, F and J pax have posted they were gifted bears without any request - just being nice to crew will put you way up the list.

As for PJs etc there are plenty charities that would love you to hand them on - the Ette gives all ours to Sacred Heart in St Kilda and they love them - can you imagine sleeping on the streets in MEL with insufficient clothes to keep frost out?

You have to ask for the bears

Yes we know what to do with extra pj's at home, Hobart city mission, and I did re-use same pair for 2nd leg recently HND/SIN/Syd because they were partic comfy and green (not black).. But hv never seen/requested/been offered or overheard any dealings in Bears, there must be another universe onboard..

Just got off SQ221 this morning...

1 pax in J had her iPad on all night on speaker. No one really did anything

Lazy/disinterested crew - Strange on the A380 though, as I find those crew are the best.

The A350 regional crew I have found a joke

I have had crew tell people to use headphones/turn sound off before on a few flights without being prompted by me.

The crew often place two bears (boy and girl) on the double bed in suites after making it. This was the norm in old R and seems to be the same in new R. When flying solo pax usually need to request for them.

Haneda SQ - F check-in

Really must compliment ANA ground staff handling SQ flts at Haneda. Certainly there is a plenitude of them (that means lots - QF take note..)

With our bags we walked from the nearby Villa Fontaine hotel (at most a 10 min walk to Intl T3) for our 0910 flt in F to Sin. One pax ahead of us at the counter, so a floating ANA staff comes up, checks our docs, starts organising our bags etc while the bloke ahead finishes up. Then, with our bags tagged to Syd and BP's issued we are invited to follow another ANA person around, between and thru the crowds to the aircrew security line. She sees us thru a very fast screening and then lines us up at a passport terminal, bows and disappears..

Found our way to the ANA F lounge (again very well-staffed) by which time our elapsed time from hotel to lounge was maybe around 20 mins. I'd be happy to check in that way Everywhere.!

I’m not surprised, can’t beat Japan when it comes to service.

I was in J -didn't ask for anything and certainly didn't need bears but it was kind of the two crews. I do try to be nice and have a chat if they seem to want too. I need to be gluten free so it does tend to mean they do stop and chat to make sure things are okay. On the recent flights my food was quite good (given most airline GF it is seldom going to be wonderful unfortunately) The crew were at pains to check I was happy so maybe the bears came because of that.

Same for me. Now, I know the reason for me is that CE has worded them up for my prior comments about the old PR :) ; what have you done to upset the universe?

Perhaps those perceptive cabin crew can see we are beyond trifles like toy bears, y'know like: nemo me lacessit impune?
