SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I would assume checkin for 325 is open 3hrs pre departure but I really don’t know - as for lounges it’s a line ball IMHO - both Senator Lounge and AC Lounge are certainly not spectacular - AC Lounge maybe more modern but LH Lounge showers are excellent - F & B offerings so so in both - neither is stand out IMHO - but if you check in early try both 👍

Last time I was there in late Oct they directed both F and J pax to Senator Lounge - may have changed since but I don’t know

thanks for the info - much appreciated
Senator Lounges are traditionally for star alliance first class (non Lufthansa Group), and star gold. The Lufthansa business class lounges are a small step below senator, well… in some cases a big step below senator. But at FRA not so bad.

The star alliance lounge finder is a good guide: Lounge Information - Star Alliance

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what time check in opens for SQ325 out of FRA - also is the lounge any good ?
thanks for the help

Here is my review of AC & LH Senator lounges from late December.

thanks for that so we can access a number of different lounges?

Yes. As others have noted both AC & LH. J pax will get the LH Business lounge which from other reports I’ve read is similar to the senator lounge. If you happen to be Star gold then you also have access to the Senator lounge.

Thank you so much - I gather from your report that check in opens 3 hours before flight ? We are on 325 at 22.00 so was hoping to be able to check in a bit earlier as we are coming up from Strasbourg that day

I was on SQ26 to JFK but yes, 3hrs prior.

As long as you go early, I went to have shower about 1 hr before SQ325 departs and “sorry we’re closed”. (They must close by 9pm - or earlier even).

FWIW - o/n I have had an Adv W/L clear for May 10 PVG-SIN-MEL - flt timings are best available but date is 1 day later than really suitable - decisions decisions

weird married segment logic at play again

SYD - SIN - advantage available
SIN - HYD - saver and advantage available

SYD - HYD - only waitlist available.

Will calling them help solve the issue?

There's completely different inventory (aka amount of seats available for redemption) for SYD-SIN, SIN-HYD, SYD-HYD (it even gets as granular as different flight times).

Calling them won't help solve the issue unfortunately.

If you really need those flights on those particular dates, the best you'd be able to do is book them separately and at check-in in SYD, ask for the bags to be tagged all the way to HYD.
Costs more in points but it's better at least compared to slumming it in Y (or worse, not going on the trip at all)!

You could try booking to nearby BLR or BOM and catching a domestic Indigo flight to HYD from there - many options (some more creative in routing than others)!

I'm flying first class on SQ for the first time Sydney to Singapore • SQ 212 early June. Then back in Business Singapore to Sydney • SQ 221.

I just wanted to reach out and ask you all if there's anything this first timer should know and make sure I don't miss out on! Any and all advice very much appreciate.
