Isn’t R (and all 1st travel really) by it’s very nature “over the top look at me self indulgence”? I thought that’s why we love it?
 
I have 3C / 3D to my lonesome today - this is the ultimate flying exp IMHO - I do not need 3 acres of territory like new R with their hideous seat placement / operation

I am not sure how much look at me factor there is when if you fly 1st you are normally off from the masses.

Personally when I go 1st it is just for the indulgence ;) So when I do book it, I look for daytime flights. I see little benefit in say a flight leaving SIN around midnight for Europe.
 
No satay to / fro any Australian port due to AU AQIS regs - virtually all other Medium and Long haul routes in SQ network satay is served - but not Australian ports.
We get Satay from Perth. No idea how but dinner service only.

Actually I seem to remember that the CSM saying to me in the past that they’re flown in and kept in the galley - I guess it could work due to short flight time.

A question, is there a reason you prefer 3C rather than 3A or another windowed suite in the old config?
 
Comoman - Crew tell me Satay only on aft flt SIN-PERK - no Satay PERK-SIN - date point only - pls don’t hang and quarter me if not correct

For us, it is by no means “look at me”, especially with SQ. Access to F lounge, the Private Room, often your own jet bridge, and they don’t board economy via F cabins, it’s the exact opposite of look at me, total privacy, pampering (indulgence, yes), and relaxation. It’s an amazing way to start and end a holiday. Not to mention beating 300 others through immigration at LAX when you’re that first arrival. :)
 
Since when has AQIS stamped out AU Satay? I'm sure I've had Satay MEL-SIN numerous times... or is the Krug haze confusing which flights we've had it on?
 
I can never remember Satay on MEL route- but I might be wrong - so many other routes flown over the years - I just do not remember - again the Q was asked earlier in thread and I asked Crew in R cabin last night - just reporting back
 
I seriously hate taking morning flts with SQ in R or F where breakfast or brunch is served (brunch simply a glorified breakfast) - I had to take 805 ex PEK on Wed:

This is a 6hr 50min sch flt - dep PEK 08:40 arr SIN 15:30 - out of bed at 06:00 for 06:30 dep from hotel with trip to PEK from downtown only 30mins at this time of morn - checkin with plenty time and had plenty time to eat bfast if you can find anything suitable in PEK - cough food offerings there. I only booked the flt day before dep so within 24hrs dep no BTC - I usually choose a hamburger from very limited BTC for morning PEK dep but no go this time so we have to settle for bfast onboard.

Can't really go wrong with fruit and yoghurt can you?

But OMG - the baked eggs - vomitous - eggs totally undercooked with whites still runny - those pox chicken sausages which are just a disgrace - i tried to cut an egg but it just spilled everywhere - and the tomato - when was last time you had a tomato as big as a tennis ball served up whole on your plate? Just sent whole lot back.

I did pick up a couple of little sandwich triangles from CA F Lounge prior to boarding which kept me going - but this flt less than an hour shorter than SIN-MEL and you get virtually 2 meals onboard - I just hate these breakfast / brunch offerings.
 
I did check onboard menu after booking and decided against the beef rib which I have had before and which is disappointing - can't go past the 8oz rib eye - it never fails you:

I did have pics of the salad and cheese platter but can't find them right now in my you beaut filing system - suffice to say every course was superb - fabulous Crew - exactly what pointy end flying should be.
