Made a little easier today with IFM being named Kelvin and CS being named Melvin 👍 😁 - jeez even I can remember that - throw in LSS Doris who is an absolute star and we have an all star team.
I’ve had Kelvin and Melvin on the same (SQ Mel to Sin) flight recently! I was sure I was hearing things!

And on the topic of Comptes - you won’t be getting all 3 Dom, Krug and Comptes on flts - Krug and Comptes on rotation - so it will be Dom and Krug - Dom and Comptes - but never all 3

Krug v Comptes - IMHO - Krug by the length of the straight - Comptes much more mellow gentle Champagne as opposed to the refined robustness of Krug - kinda like comparing Tommy, boomy and penegirl to myself 😎👍

For years word out of SQ is that consistent satisfactory supply of Krug unachievable - indeed some flts airborne with no Krug at all onboard.

Beats me - I would have thought SQ R/F was one supply avenue which would have demanded a consistent supply and would be one of the first filled
As long as the Dom is available! Don't care about those lesser brands. ;)

Bit of a change to SQ J Champs offering - as of Nov 1 Laurent Pertier now being stocked:

And:

CH was still be offered on 238 Wed but once existing stocks depleted then it will be LP on all flts. Whilst I do like LP it is not a patch on my favourite ‘little Krug’ CH IMHO 😢

Not the same dynamic duo Scr77 - Melvin was indeed in MEL 3 weeks ago but Kelvin has not been to MEL for 14mths

FWIW Mother of Pearl spoons now added to SQ R/F caviar offering:

Apparently also turning out to be a preferred ‘souvenir’ of pax - gotta shake your head don’t you?

Any other difference to the caviar offering? Assume supper service still misses out?

Now don't for a minute think QF have a mortgage on the over-hyped under-delivering 'Celebrity Chef' being a flog concept - SQ have their share for sure

If the main course of 'Beef and Ale Pie' was indeed conceived and designed by Matt Moran then I suggest a career change for him also - it was totally unacceptable as a SQ First Class Dining Option - TOTALLY.

A few pieces of ordinary beef with lashings of fat attached swimming in watery gravy topped with a pastry medallion? Seriously? If you went to your local pub on a Mon or Tues night when they are empty and they dished this up to you you would throw it back at them - more feedback heading SQ's way.

The rest was pretty good:

So the day after our pie fiasco I am in J SIN-PVG - menu:

Food (I did not partake in the crab Appetiser as I am allergic to crustaceans):

WOW - what a great idea for western meal offering on an international flight - meat and vegetables! Clearly too complicated for the average ‘Celebrity Chef’ jerk to get their minds around!

Can you buy (select) the extra legroom in Economy if I use LM points to get the seat?

Can anyone please advise if there will be flights with closed suites from Mel to Sin and vice next Aug or its still too far off to speculate?

I’ve done some searching, but the flights with first class are showing up as just normal first class seats, instead of suites.

Mainly Miles also seem to indicate that the old suites (2006 R) between Mel and Sin will only run till end of Jan / early Feb 2020.

Thanks!

You're looking for an A380 - the only aircraft with closed suites. I'd say it is too early to tell. SQ does change aircraft.

Currently seated in 1C SQ805 waiting to dep PEK-SIN - just had a flashback - it was this same flt just on 12mths ago we had 5hr delay in pushback with doors closed and just had to hold or position in dep queue would be lost.

I was in J and the girls just kept plying me with CH til it was running out my ears - I was very ‘giddy’ when we arrived SIN and left laptop on plane - didn’t realise until about to board next flt to MEL - by the time I retrieved it my flt was long gone - into CP for 3 hrs sleep then onto 217 next morn - drama? Nope - all in days travelling 👍
