I have 2 options to fly

1. SQ 212 on 777er in First class reaching Sin 14.15pm and connecting to AMD @ 18.40 with 4.5 hrs in TPR against

2. SQ 232 on A380 in Suites reaching Sin 17.35pm and connecting to AMD @ 18.40 with practically no time in TPR

Any thoughts from the experts which flight is better in terms of value both in air and on ground.

personally i prefer 777 F as the seat is significantly larger. I also find the IFE display is too far away in suites and i need glasses whereas on 777 it's in your face.

4.5 hours in tpr is too much and you'll be bored after the first hour or two of champagne.

Just to clarify I will probably get about 3 hrs max in TPR considering time to and from the gate to TPR with duty free shopping added.

I prefer suites, but they are starting to look a little tired (SQ still my first choice over other airlines). The Private Room is only ok in comparison to offerings from other premium airlines. If you've never visited the private room then go 77W otherwise, suites wins for me.

As both options are day flights, its much of a muchness, having just done 2 sectors in each of them in the past 2 weeks. Maybe B777 by a whisker (for daytime flights).

Go the B777 to get some time in TPR.

Depends which version 777 you are flying - 77W is old F so Suites (R) wins - 77WN is new F and an excellent product so 50/50 with R - 77WR also has new F so 50/50 - but the TPR should be experienced for couple hours if you have never been in it.

Also depends what meal they serve on 212 - I have never flown that - do they serve brunch or lunch? Brunch to be avoided as it basically breakfast - lunch gives you the full dining experience.

Any day I had a choice daytime flt R or new F I would still take R every day of the week but then again if you go R you will pretty well miss TPR - welcome to the unique club of procrastination over totally rediculous first world problems Swappy.
