I'm looking to fly to BKK on Jan 29 and return on the 12.

I can do a standard return for about $890, but when I add a stop over the price jumps over $1200

Am I doing something wrong. I haven't flown SQ for a few yrs, but laast time i booked you got a stopover for free, and it always seemed the Singaporean Govt did it's best to encpourage people to have a few days there n spend some money.

Anyone got some tips for me on how to get a cut price stopover

It's quite strange. basically SQ seem to be chargin around $400 for a stop over in Singapore.

Seems I'm better off booking a SYD - SIN rtn for around $800 and then get a budget trip to BKK return.

i wonder why they've made a stopover so expensive now?

Both Flight Centre and Best Flights list 'free stopover in SIN in both directions' as part of the current sale.

Try going through an agent, if just for a quote, or call SQ direct.

I did call SQ direct and yeah the price was still over $1200

ended up using some points to go to coughet and fly home from Bangkok.
