I was just having a look for award availability on the Air Canada website and noticed that Singapore Airlines is now once again appearing as an option. Only Y availability at this stage, but perhaps this means SQ is no longer blocking all partner airlines from access its award inventory.

SQ availability is also now showing up on LifeMiles. Can't see any on the United website, but IIRC UA never showed SQ award seats anyway.

Still can't see any SQ reward flights on the VA website though.

Yes - I just noticed that.
I booked Frankfurt to Palermo Sicily Business class using points for a Lufthansa flight.
I think it was only 30,000 points each.
Very convenient as I already have First class tickets Sydney to Frankfurt ( next month) and now I have an entire journey to Sicily on points and can get the bags checked all the way to my destination.
It's so nice to be travelling again!

First class saver or advantage?

If it's first class saver you could've gotten the Frankfurt to Palermo for 0 extra miles.

Advantage. But I did not know that rule about Saver. Trying to get SQ on the phone to arrange that would probably be time consuming and painful.

You can't do it on Advantage so you didn't lose out on anything.

As per this thread, looks like you can now redeem Velocity points for SQ flights as well. Economy class only for now.

be careful with Luftgansa. I booked few times FRA- DME (Moscow) in business. There is no actual business class seats on the planes. Its like economy but you have 3 sets to yourself and its called Business class. Total waste of points and high fees! Its a joke!
Only advantage is luggage allowance that's why I booked for my partner to move luggage to DME in few trips. Very expensive fees too like 100-150 EUR.
