Question regarding SQ redemptions by using a "stopover" of less than 24 hours.
I have found that by utilising the stopover tab far better connections through Singapore are thrown up including connections within 24hours .
The system allows
these "transits/stopovers" to be booked and redeemed .
I find it impossible to get the concept over to telephone operators at Krisflyer.
The question is once the ticket is booked as a "stopover" with only an 18 hour connection time am I likely to run into problems?

Interesting they are supposed to be trained to do these type of bookings.

I believe there won't be any issues. A friend has booked these type of transits/stopovers in the past and a lot of times the award booking engine gives options for connecting flights the next day requiring an overnight transit/stopover anyway.

The beauty of <24hrs stopover is that luggage can be checked thru to destination. Makes it easier for the break with just the carry on bag.

I must admit I am surprised as I have always found the operators most helpful and accommodating when making bookings that should book, but don't on-line.

Are you ringing the Australian number? That is what I normally use, though I have found operators in the UK and Singapore to also be good.

I have several times made bookings where I could see say AMS- SIN and then SIN-MEL as separate bookngs, but where the search engine would not then show if I tried a MEL-AMS booking.

On calling they would book it, also still honored the 15% on-line discount.

Last time there was layover in SIN of about 17 hours.

Thanks for advice to all.
On reading, best option is to pick out exactly what I want then phone and hopefully they will still honor the 15% discount.
