I just find it a bit over nationalisitc getting the Sq girls to perform when most are not Singaporeean...I asume they only chose the Singaporeans to perform

It's their National day.
How is a few cheesy songs and some choreography over nationalistic. They are not even waving Singapore national flags or singing their national anthem.
I'd say they can be very proud of their achievement - from a backward island swamp with zero natural resources, limited land and water to a highly educated first world country with commensurate living standards in 60 years.

Yes, SQ employs Asian cabin crew mainly from Singapore and their regional neighbours and "Singapore Girl" is may not actually be Singaporean, but its a global airline with an Asian Hub.

Interestingly, Ive heard that SQ male cabin crew are Singaporean, whihe female cabin crew can be various asian nationalities
