Seems like now we can book SQ suites/first with Virgin directly using VFF points.

A few media sites have some coverage and comparisons, I'll post links to their articles and the VA and SQ points tables so you can do comparisons. Bookings must be done over the phone though.

Seems like it's no matter who you book through, as it's usually a few thousand points here or there. I was looking for sweet spots in the east coast Au to Europe route and I couldn't find a saving of more than 4,000 points. But that would be 16,000 points for two people return so worth doing the math.

I should note that the biggest saving for me is still when I transfer from AMEX to SQ directly and avoid the 1.35 conversion fee. Happy hunting AFFers

Edit: PE bookings from 31st August.

Better off transferring to velocity from Amex now for certain routes, with 25% bonus with platinum charge. Availability may be an issue though booking with virgin....

Have you got some examples ?

Not all of us have 25% bonus.

Note that ABT reported that you can make bookings from 31st August, rather than as of now.

Seems the article actually says PE is coming from August but F is open now:

"Singapore Airlines premium economy reward flights can be booked through the Velocity Frequent Flyer website from August 31 2017, when these rewards become available to Velocity members.

"First class and Suites Class flights can instead be booked right now using Velocity points"

SYD/MEL-SIN costs 80000 KF points for F redemption.
With VA, the same redemption costs 95000 points. So if you transfer from Amex MR the 80000 to VA with 25% bonus, you will aquire 100000 points. Hence your're left with 5000 extra points as a pose to doing it directly with KF.
But again, if availability is scarce through VA then you're probably better off redeeming direct with KF anyway.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yeah sure, goes to show y'all need to consider all the bonus' when doing the math on redemptions. VFF often has 10-15% transfer bonus a few times a year too.

If transferring from Amex -> VA or SQ at the same rate then SQ is going to win out.

Has anyone actually seen availability on VA for SQ suites? I worry it's a red herring and won't actually be available... (as I know that as PPS on SQ it's quite rare as well)
