SQ Award Space - What happend?

I think Jeremy might hit a bit of a hurdle here - port of dep cannot be changed - booking will need to be cancelled and new booking mad.

Looking at AKL-SIN-MNL award on Christmas day - AKL-SIN available, but not SIN-MNL, so I booked AKL-SIN first online. Added the MNL flight as a waitlist by calling them up and got the e-mail notification that a seat has been made available yesterday.

Called up SQ to confirm the flights and paid the difference in tax - no problems at all! Very happy!

Yes daniel very easy to tag additional sector onto flt and hence dest change - but not origin.

Okay, not going well so far, I have been on the phone twice and both times, they look up MEL-CDG and say that's waitlisted, I try to explain that I already have the SIN-CDG booked and just need to change the existing booking but the confusion seems to be that they can't see available MEL-CDG on their screen. The lady helping me last night tried to be helpful and added the MEL-SIN to my existing booking but it is waitlisted (even though there is available Saver award space).

No response to the detailed e-mail I sent yet, but when the difference between adding the flight or booking the flight separately is about 50k miles I have to keep trying every avenue.

I'll give the Krisflyer line a third attempt tonight.

My worry here is that I cancel the Suites tickets I have that I may lose them before I can rebook or they don't reappear as being available.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Jeremy don't cancel - wait and see if the other sector confirms - if it does call KF and hopefully they will be able to do you a new booking linking both sectors - as always no guarantees with this.

Provided you have sufficient pts in your KF account you can also waitlist multiple combos on and around your desired date of travel - good lucjk whichever way you decide to proceed.

Good news: a F saver award Lhr-Sin-Syd opened up tonight so booked :)
Bad news: it is not for me; it is for +1 :(
I know I managed to snare a F saver award ex Lhr in October 2016 above....but it is a worry that there are no J saver award seats ex Lhr in October next year (nearly a year ahead!!) that I could find (apart from waitlisting)....really looks like premium saver awards seats are drying up!

edit...could find an occas. saver J award seat on the 1335 ex Lhr (SQ305) but that's it for October 2016!

Hi Guys,

Been searching syd nrt return J Class ( 2 adult 1 child ), When I search the result came up as Departure Waitlist, Return Available. So I click 1 waitlist on departure, and 1 Available on return. Then I click Continue, and next page came up as below attachment: the departure do not says anything about WAITLIST. Is this confirmed?

Using iphone app, showing 395,250 points which is correct after discount. When I search using PC showing waitlist and available :(

I'm glad it's not just me struggling to find award tickets.

I looked for Suites redemptions between Sydney and Singapore a few months ago and there were heaps, but now they've all but vanished for the next 9 months. I didn't even get waitlist options - my searches just defaulted to full cost seats.

i don't think, unfortunately, the drying up of Sq premium awards (at saver level) is unrelated to the sudden influx of large amount of Velocity points transfers to Krisflyer miles.

Just tried to get 1 J seat into and out of CDG, ZRH, LHR from Aug to first week Sept and found only 1 seat, was able to get 2 F Savers here and there but needed 1 J to go with it. Definitely seems to be dried up. Rang to ask if there was a problem as all waitlisted but the response was all aircrafts getting full.

Peak travel time for Europe and you need now to really book a year in advance (like Qantas) to secure seats.

Last minute is fantastic though. Currently in a position to cancel my EY J flights to LHR (which have been booked since early this year) and get on SQ F instead. Won't do it since I don't have enough points to cover both at the same time (also the taxes are out of control). But still – definitely do-able.

Actually, that said – there's even EY J/F available in the next few days right through to LHR booked through VA.

It's all anecdotal though. Definitely a matter of YMMV considering the many combinations of routes/dates/cabins.

In the same boat as you except in reverse. I have SQ F to LHR booked for Friday night but with a 7 hour stop over ( read pool visit) in SIN. Just looked and EY have a 4 pm departure in F to LHR with the second leg in the apartment and also the chauffeur . I must say exceptionally tempting ( the points are already there in VA) I just have to negotiate the work issue on Friday pm. For me the points increase from SQ saver F to EY F is balanced by the reduction in taxes from AU$ 400ish to AU$ 80 ish. I am lucky I have more points than I can spend at the moment. First world decisions Krug or Bolly Grande Annee!!

Just looked again and I can make my saver a standard on SQ with minimal stop over and second leg in suites.....Hmmmmmm.
At this point I always think back about trying to do this with QFF points 7 days before Christmas ... maybe not!

It's tough, to be sure, Danger. I'm going to stick with J and save the points, despite having options.

It's pretty cool really. I mean seriously – the idea that I could just book a trip in F to London on Tuesday without breaking a sweat is incredible.

But as if I could spend the whole year twiddling my thumbs. Way too organised for that!

Looking at booking business class award BKK-SIN-SYD on 05 August. Most combinations are not available, there are 1-2 on waitlist and the ones offering the saver option depart BKK~12:15pm arriving into SIN ~3:40pm connecting onto the 2 SIN-SYD flights departing around midnight.

That's a fairly long connection but not the end of the world. The interesting part is that all BKK-SIN flights that day are offering a saver award. I could call and see why a shorter connection is not offered.

On another note what is it with 05 August? School holidays over? Limited award availability on SQ and Qantas from SE Asia on that day.

9 Aug is National Day in Singapore. It is a Tuesday, so people must be taking long weekends and holidays?
