Hi All,

Will be on SQ Y SIN-MEL with my wife flying on the A350.

Keen to hear the community's thoughts/experience if extra legroom on Row 47 is worth the SGD$102 per person cost?

Main attraction for me would be 2 seats instead of standard 3-3-3

Cheers

Maybe, but I wouldn't pay for it. If my wife and I were flying SQ in Y, we'd choose seats in the middle for direct aisle access and no one trying to climb over us, and saving something like AU$250. But having said that, we wouldn't be doing it at all. We'd be flying Scoot Plus in 1A/C.

Not on SQ but I sat in that ‘pair’ by the exit on an American Airlines a321 a couple months ago.

It was nice to be in a block of two rather than three… but… the seats sort of felt very exposed. Nothing in front of you and nothing to the side of you… nowhere really to store anything, and nowhere to lean into… someone could knock you from either side.

If was fine for such a short flight, but not sure about long haul.

Too close to the toilets for me. People waiting in the exit area probably trip over your extended feet, also.
Due to status we access those seats for free (when they are available), and toilet problem is not an issue at all. IIRC there’s a walkway in front of the bulkhead where people tend to stand when waiting (although I could be confused here ).

Pros: extra legroom (obviously)
Cons: screen and tray table in armrest, so slightly narrower seat and can’t use IFE during taxi/takeoff and final descent.

I often store stuff (Books, headphones etc). If I need it on the floor under my legs except during takeoff/landing or put my backpack in front of my feet . (I’ve even seen people use their wheelaboard as a foot rest).

Would I pay that much for them? Probably not. Scoot Plus a better option as suggested above. Maybe half that amount.

Do I use them because they cost nothing? Every time. For solo travellers the window seats in Row 48 are also good options and have used these too.
