NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most uncomfortable aircraft (in Y at least) in the SQ fleet is being 'dumped' onto the SIN-PER route from May 2018.

I was hoping that it was going to be too big to replace the current aircraft (333/772) on the route but obviously not.

Hopefully the 'cancer' of the 78J will be quarantined to one flight rotation but it will most likely spread over time.

Singapore Airlines brings Boeing 787-10 to Perth

I was going to book a flight to HKG for June on the weekend. I will now hold off to find out which rotation gets thrown this hand grenade...

A quick look at the SQ website shows that the SQ215/216 rotation is the one to take the pain. Unfortunately SQ215 SIN 18:45 - PER 23:55 is the flight I travel on the most.

The B787... bringing B737 'comfort' to long haul travel...

But for most AFFers they fly in J anyway, so that should be an improvement?

My SQ215 booking in J for August just had a change email come through.

New window seats selected in the now 1-2-1 layout :)

Have booked SQ216 way into 2019 :)
but no email for me

would have preferred the A350 though

I would check you booking for the seat map.

Ours was a seat change notification rather than aircraft type as we had a window pair which the aisle seat number obviously doesn't exist on the new plane.

I'm booked onto SQ226 and SQ213 later this year so will miss out on trying the new 787 J. But the 772 with 1-2-1 is a pretty good product for the route so makes sense that they replace the regional 2-2-2 first. Am glad that Perth is getting some love!

Finally got the email today with equipment swap to the 787

I'm happy that the aircraft is changing to the new regional J product, especially with an overnight sector - however I can also understand why people in Y may not be so stoked about this change.

I did not know that SQ flew 772 in 1-2-1 to Perth?

Yeah they've had the 772 with 1-2-1 for a while now on SQ213 and 226. Don't really get to have a nap on them anymore with our little one haha, but the extra space is nice.

Its a good product with an infant those extra wide seats :) Too bad SQ213/226 doesnt really work for my HKG connections.

Hope we will see the A350 progressively rolled out on this route too.
