SPG hotel SIN & KUL

Friends don't let friends stay at the Sheraton Singapore.

I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton in KL which is across the lane from the Westin - so echo the thoughts that the location of the Westin is perfect.

I'd agree with the SIN sheraton. Yawn! But the W is just too far out of the way, and the St regis is just too expensive. So if I want my 4pm checkout, the Sheraton it is. Sigh.

Evening,

I'm planning first trip to SIN and KUL and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for SPG hotels there, any tips for increasing my chances to getting a suite upgrade (SPG platinum)?

Looking at prices will probably go for the Sheraton Towers in SIN and Imperial or Westin in KUL.

Much appreciated!!

I haven't read the entire thread but have recently booked an Urban room (hoping for a upgrade) at the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral near Sentral station. Hotel is near new only opening in May this year I think. A big plus was the free internet. Cost including taxes about $127.

Its not bad but upgrades are generally of the higher floor type, good for short stays.

Thanks markis. Can you recommend any good reasonably priced Malay restaurants nearby Aloft for dinner? Any suggestions for lunch welcomed. Haven't been to KL in 25 yrs.

The are some good Indian ones near the monorail station, for Malay a short taxi ride away:
