Sparkling (Shiraz or Red) Recommendations?

That's a lot cheaper, but not all that exciting in comparison to the Joseph. The latest move by Seppelt is to make the "Original" into a non-vintage, the NV bottle I tried last week was fairly ordinary, I prefer the cheaper Patritti mentioned above.

yes, quite simple and plain. will try a patritti next time,

Primo Joseph Shiraz has always been my go to sparkling shiraz. Refreshing and bright, but with enough complexity of the shiraz coming through. Wonderfully Australian :)

'Cheap' and 'Expensive' are terms i try to avoid throwing around when talking about this topic :)

You may get a new disgorgement or possibly stock from the prior (supposedly sold out) offer, it may be under crown seal or Diam cork. o_O
But that's Dan Murphys...
What was the previous price? I did see this had come back available and thought I'd paid less last time but not really sure what that was!

It was $25 last time. Supposedly the price rise relates to the new disgorgement, I'm still trying to find out if there is any difference in what is being delivered now, labels on deliveries so far are identical to the original batch.

It might be too late now, my subscribers have been all over this the last couple of weeks and it has come back from "sold out" at least 3 times now, but currently unavailable again.

I also really enjoy the Joseph Sparkling Red, although find the bottle shape really annoying (small peeve, I know).

I also enjoy Balnaves Sparkling Cabernet and was lucky enough to be given a bottle of Rockford Sparkling Shiraz recently that I'm excited to try!

I recently went to the Yarra wine region, and dropped into Chandon, they had a surprisingly good sparkling red.
It tasted like christmas in a glass. I'm not a fan of sparkling red, but I really liked this one
I agree, I'm a big fan of it as well! Delicious and a little bit lighter than some others.
It's good, but I find it a bit on the sweet side. I prefer some of the Rutherglen style sparking reds, like Morris or Cofields - just that bit drier

The reviews on that wine 😆

Yeah, the first release was a ripper, I bought heaps and still have some, the second release was made without any dosage and was essentially a fizzy dry red. Some people tried adding their own dosage of various sweet fortifieds, most just sent it back. Dan Murphy didn't change the description for the new batch ("blended together with some very old fortified "), but the Rose Kentish site confirms the zero dosage status.
