from news.com.au:

A US airline has caused controversy by decorating one of its planes with a picture of a sexy swimsuit model.

The Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 has been emblazoned with Sports Illustrated cover girl Bar Refaeli to celebrate the magazine's annual swimsuit issue.

I'm all for showing a bit of skin, but docjames' point about the lady thrown off for wearing clothing that was 'too revealing' is a good one. It seems incredibly hypocritical of Southwest to have acted as the mutaween on what their passengers are wearing then to plaster this on the side of the aircraft.

I think the episode was more the a case of a Prudish CSM acting unilaterally rather than the invention of an advertising executive.

But this is what drives people nuts - in most cases, people will accept any rule if it is enforced fairly and consistently. When people act unilaterally (and thus, inconsistently), or unfairly, then people will kick up all merry hell. This is part of the reason they have to be so rigid on the 30min checkin on LCCs - if they make an exception for you.... [opens can of worms]

Kinda OT...but talking of crazy entry rules...this guy I knew in Sydney was a world famous body painter - some time ago back in London a girl had bought a pair of jeans in Harrods. She went back another day to do more shopping, but was refused entry for wearing the very jeans she had bought previously in the shop.

A tabloid paper employed the guy to paint a dress on her. They set the gig up with hidden cameras and she successfully entered Harrods because at first glance the door people thought she was wearing a smart outfit, even though she was starkers.

So she couldn't get into the shop with the jeans they sold her, but did return successfully with nought, but a thin coat of expertly applied acrylic...

PS. Any one is SYD - the NSW Bodypaint Championship is due to take place in Rose Bay RSL on Sat 21st Feb...don't ask me how I know that ;)
