Am I missing the configuration setting that allows one to sort threads with the most recent post first on page one descending to the oldest post at the end of page 384? I can't find it anywhere. Is it possible to specify this as the default display configuration? If so, where is the setting please?

Can't help with a solution but I am intrigued as to why you would want to read posts in that manner

It's normal for me that when clicking on a thread I'm most likely to want to read the latest reply, not the one from 3 years ago. The default display order means I have to click again on the last page to see the latest posting. If I could sort postings the other way around, I wouldn't have to do this, the latest post would be displayed right there straight away.

I hope you find your solution, but in the meantime, if you click the blue dot next to the thread title in 'new posts' you'll go to the most recent unread (by you) post in that thread and if you click on the time stamp on the right under the member's name, you'll go to the very latest post.

Alternately if you right click on the blue dot you can open the thread in a new tab and keep your starting page intact. I often do that and open multiple tabs and then go and read and close them in turn.
