From ATW Daily News:

News from Travel Technology Update: If you disappoint your passengers, "it will be public, and it will live forever," Forrester Research analyst Henry Harteveldt said at the recent SITA IT Summit in Cannes, France.

Harteveldt was talking about social media phenomena such as Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and Twitter, which allow travelers to broadcast their experiences immediately to hundreds, thousands, even millions of people.

So much to learn about Social media. Facebook has a feature which allows advertisers to use your profile pictures when advertising to your friends. One notable example Facebook Dating Ad Hooks Up Married Man … With His Wife [Updated].

I'd recommend everyone disable that little feature. Directions

“All you have to do to prevent this is sign in to Facebook and click through to -> Settings -> Privacy -> News Feed and Wall -> Facebook Ads -> Appearance in Facebook Ads and click “no one.”

Would have been nice for that feature to default to "no" instead of "yes".

Thanks for the tip. :)

I periodically like to check Facebook's privacy settings to see what new additions they've made (and what they've defaulted to "Yes")...but clearly not often enough!

Cheers,
- Febs.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

They're meant to be updating all those menus to make it easier to navigate, because as it is, that's buried a long way down. Changed it anyway, and for all the backlash they could get, I can see why it's default is to yes. It's a great ad tool, and they need to make money somehow, otherwise they may as well just shut down.

I do wonder what ads I've been in though.
