2 jets make emergency LAX landings - The Daily Breeze

No injuries were reported Monday when two jetliners made emergency landings at Los Angeles International Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
First, a V Australia flight headed from Sydney to LAX made an emergency landing at 7:38 a.m. after the pilot reported a high pressure reading in the main landing gear of the Boeing 777, said FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.
There were 378 passengers and crew members aboard the plane, said LAX spokesman Albert Rodriguez.

Interesting - the word 'emergency' and if it is Qantas, the media goes into hysterics. Something happens to V Aus and barely rates a mention. I know nothing much came of it at the end but really, it it happened to Qantas, it would be the lead story today.

Because Virgin Blue (and thus V Aust) are the airline chosen by nonews' target market, and maybe unlike QF, DJ \ VA are more likely to get lawyers involved sooner...

Pretty sure no news corp has 'interests' in DJ....

Alan Joyce in his interview pointed out the bias as well - as DJ have had 2 turn backs in the last month or so which barely got a mention whilst Qantas being one meal short on a 45min flight gets headlines for attempted murder by starvation ;)

Tall poppy syndrome is alive and kicking...

Most of the dribble published on No News is sourced from AAP... so you really should be asking them why they are so biased.

I've posted this before, and will post it again :)

AAP mention on their website:
AAP's mission statement: To provide the Australian media, private and public sector with a cost-effective, unbiased, reliable, comprehensive news and information resource.

YEP. That happens. Just as long as you aren't talking about reporting things fairly.
