So someone does love the QF A380s in the desert.

Qantas engineers maintaining the airline's grounded Airbus A380 fleet in a Californian desert are facing a novel problem: rattlesnakes are making homes in the landing gear.

Ok, I'm now now longer excited about flying on them again.

Nothing new in this. They're parked in the desert after all. Closer to home, you'd occasionally find a snake on the international tarmac at Perth. Never saw any, anywhere else in Oz. Guess they wanted to leave.

Qantas expects the A380s to be grounded for several years, so Victorville is simply a more suitable (and cheaper) place to store the superjumbo planes for an extended period. It’s also much closer to Qantas’ A380 maintenance facility at Los Angeles International Airport.
