SMS Check-IN SYD-MEL

Yeah, you show the check-in staff the SMS on your phone and they ask that you turn the phone off per the usual regs once on the a/c. I wonder what happens if someone disputes your seat and your stuck trying to turn your phone back on. It's almost comical thinking of the FA telling you to turn off the phone at the same time.
I also notice that it is only applicable for SYD-MEL beween 6 & 10 AM.

SMS Promotion

I just went to the link and tried to register, however it told me:

Sorry, Qantas SMS Check-in is currently only valid for a trial group.

I guess you must be one of the lucky chosen!

Do you know how to get into this program -- I wouldn't mind 5,000 bonus points.

link works fine for me

are you in australia?

only problem I can see is:

- Leave your phone in the cab on the way to the airport..? :|
- Battery dies and you're already running late?
- As mentioned above..the seat issue

Being able to print ya own boarding passes online would be smarter me thinks!
