I Have 46000+ miles I am unlikely to use. Can you use Krisflyer for anything else other than flying?

How long have you got left in your time until expiry? A Saver to Singapore in J would be nice.

If you cannot fly, you can redeem for a nominee (relative or friend).

Remember with SQ that you can redeem through them on any Star Alliance partner.

As the OP is from Melbourne, MEL_SIN in J would be too expensive. 1110 K fom MEL return and 65K from PER return.

If they wish to fly from MEL then it would be an option to fly redeem via SQ on Air New Zealand to NZ or Pacific destinations.
If booked as a return they can stop-over in NZ as well. = 35K.

I was thinking one way with SQ in Saver and back with the other guys. Melbourne is further away to Singapore.

Those miles should be enough for a return in economy to SIN/BKK/HKG. Taxes are ~$500 but it is still worthwhile.

For online bookings that comes down to 93.5k (mel) or 55,250(per) for return / half that for one way (46.8k, 27.7k). If not used to travelling in J it could be a nice treat to redeem in J and do other direction on best fare on another carrier. In Y return is only 42,500. Also note these tickets allow travel to anywhere in SE Asia or South China (eg HKG) via SIN.

A Star Alliance redemption trip to NZ or even as far as Cook Islands in J for 35K miles.
