Slow posting of QFF points and SCs after a JQ flight

I just fired off an email to Qantas frequent flyer, maybe I'm being a bit impatient but anyway

QFF have acknowledged my request, with the boilerplate text:

"Thank you for contacting Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

Hope this finds you well.

We’re currently reviewing your claim and will credit your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership account for all qualifying transactions, within 24 hours for Qantas flights and 14 working days for Qantas partner airlines.

You can view these transactions and all your recent activity, by visiting qantas.com/youractivity where you can also print your activity statement and update your membership details and preferences."

No points so far, I wonder if JQ counts as a partner airline?

Nothing about partner airlines.

Maybe they've updated their template - in any case I don't have the points yet.

I've got a long-haul "domestic" flight to HNL from SYD later this week with JQ and will report back if the status credits post in a timely manner.

Have they resumed the route? I thought they'd only resumed MEL?

They have, the route is JQ3 and per FlightAware it has been operating for some time.

The real question now is when Uncle Alan will reopen the QF lounge at HNL as it remains "temporarily" closed (flying back to SYD on the 28th). Hopefully Uncle Alan will make up for this by keeping the Dom on ice for my arrival at the SYD INTL J lounge.

Can I be blunt and say it's a terrible lounge and I never want to set foot in it again?

When I was in HNL in Jan (flying QF104) they gave me a $20 airport food voucher and it was a significant improvement on the QP.

I'd prefer the AA lounge if it was a choice.

(Looks like JQ3 is only 3x weekly - Thu, Sat, Mon)

At this point I'd gladly take an airport voucher but doubt I'd receive it flying JQ as a QF Gold. In any event, I'm staying at the Best Western Plaza Hotel near the airport. Hopefully the breakfast buffet is plentiful.

Are we back to slow JQ posting? I'm now at 3 weeks since my last JQ flight.

Flight I took in Feb posted 2 days later.
If no one else can provide any data points my next JQ flight is next week. I’ll post my experience with crediting in the days afterwards.
Flight 1 of 2 taken on Thu, 12 May. SCs and points posted on Mon, 16th May.

4 recentish JQ flights domestic in NZ. 2 posted within 48 hours. The other 2 have not posted yet despite 2 being earlier than a flight that has posted. So looks like I will need to chase up.

As a Canadian with NEXUS (Global Entry) there is no real border I have to cross upon landing at most US ports (at least that was the case pre-COVID). Just a finger print scan and you're good to go. I suppose these arrivals may have added maybe 10 minutes to my trip since I needed to go through the GE terminal, exit customs/immigration and re-clear security in the TSA pre-check line, but for the most part it may as well be a domestic flight. The only thing that is different I suppose is some countries (like Australia) have an emmigration process for international departures, something I haven't seen in many other countries like UK, Canada and USA.

I've emailed Qantas (again) as I've exceeded the deadline on the missing points claim with no movement on my application

Data point: Was on Saturday's JQ3 long haul "domestic" service from Sydney to Honolulu and checked my QF account this evening (Sunday night Hawaii time, Monday afternoon QF time) and see that the JQ flight has posted (45 SCs & 7,875 points as a Gold on a Plus fare).

To conclude my saga after a missing points claim and multiple emails, I checked the missing points claim and the expected completion date was replaced with "Contact the Frequent Flyer team" or something like that. I called, and waited 20 minutes on hold, after a 5 minute processing time, I was advised to refresh my account and I could see the points and SC 🥳

Vip team chased the credit for me. Apart from a hiccup with one flight jot recognizing had purchased a bundle (now fixed), all now posted within a couple of days of chasing up.

Another data point: Was on Saturday's JQ4 (Honolulu to Sydney) and checked my QF account this afternoon and sure enough the points and status credits posted (indeed faster than anticipated given the flight departed at 4:30 AM on Sunday Sydney time). For those curious, I was on the Plus fare which cost $513 AUD return (including trip cancellation insurance). For that trek I collected a total of 90 status credits and 15,750 Qantas Points (and of course complimentary visits to the QF J lounge at SYD and Delta SkyClub at HNL as a QF Gold member).
