Effective 31 March 2011, Skywards and Virgin Blue will end their frequent flyer partnership. You can continue to earn Skywards Miles on Virgin Blue flights booked and flown on or before 31 March 2011. You can also redeem your Skywards Miles for return rewards tickets on Virgin Blue before 31 March 2011. As with all Skywards reward tickets, the validity will be a year from date of issue, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the reward. However, changes to reward bookings will not be permitted after 31 March 2011.

If you have missing Miles from flights you have taken with Virgin Blue, you can still submit your claim within six months of the travel date.

We re-assure you of our commitment to make your Skywards membership rewarding, offering opportunities to earn and spend with Emirates to over 100 destinations and with our global network of partners. Enjoy innovative products such as the Miles Accelerator and inspirational shopping with the

And vv. the other way around (i.e. Emirates and Velocity).

A bit of a shame; I'm sure there was plenty of people who would've liked to switch to EK flying in the main but not go with Skywards and instead preferred a "home grown" program.
