Ditto @VPSI got this from ITA
Dear Customer,
pursuant to Article 34 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, ITA Airways hereby informs you that, in recent days, it has been the victim of a cyber-attack which resulted in unauthorized access to personal data relating to the Volare loyalty program, with possible copying of such data. Based on the evidence currently available, the incident has affected only identification and contact data, as well as information relating to the Volare profile, with no compromise of payment data, passwords or credentials for accessing accounts.
As the incident may increase the risk of fraudulent communications (phishing) or identity theft, you are invited to pay particular attention to suspicious emails, SMS messages or phone calls, to refrain from disclosing passwords or personal codes and, as a purely precautionary measure, to update the password of your Volare account.
Following the attack, ITA Airways has strengthened the measures already in place to protect its systems, activating additional security procedures and initiating the appropriate investigations and technical assessments, also in cooperation with the Italian Supervisory Authority “Garante per la protezione dei dati personali” and the competent authorities, which have been duly notified in accordance with the law.
For further information, you may write to the following address: [email protected] and access the specific FAQs prepared by the data controller accessible at the following link www.ita-airways.com/it/en/support/support-faq/info-faq.
The Data Protection Officer can be contacted at [email protected].
ITA Airways apologizes for the incident: the protection of personal data and the trust of its customers represent a constant priority.
Kind regards,
ITALIA TRASPORTO AEREO S.p.A. – ITA Airways
