I have been using Skyscanner for a number of years to get an indication of available airfares. The search is quite easy and faster than Expedia, Zuji etc.
Generally the airfares are quite close to the airfares on the websites listed but then a result is displayed in the search that gets hopes up but as it turns out is horribly wrong.
e.g. CNX-SYD for travel late Jan 2015 return early April 2015 airfare from Qantas website AUD835 return. Booking with Jetabroad or Bravofly the airfare is AUD1450+. Got excited when I first saw the airfare as it lists a QF codeshare for the PG flight connecting to QF24. As it happens CNX is not an option from Qantas website.
So where did they find that airfare?
