Hi there - fellow travellers!

I've been researching on the Skyscanner website for a cheap flight for my son (21) to travel to Singapore return next week. On the Skyscanner website it is almost $100 cheaper for a Qantas fare.

Is this a good website to use or would you recommend other sites to look at first? What are the pros and cons of Skyscanner?

Grateful for any advice.

As I understand it you don't buy direct from Skyscanner, that fare you found there is actually on another website - skyscanner just compares all the online sources.

Have used Skyscanner a lot in last 2 years for flights all over the globe

You must keep them honest and check the web site of the airline for a better price that can often be had

SS can help in telling you which arlines fly from one place to the next!

Scoot is still cheaper than QF....if that's your thing

How do you do the currency conversion on the .br site?

I am clearly doing it wrong as as one of the air fare was 9.252 Brazilian Real which equals 4.64 Australian Dollar. That is either the bargain of the year or if I remove the decimal point, it is bloody expensive..

EDIT: Can now see your images... It is just bloody expensive..

I've looked at Skyscanner as well for for a Vietnam Airlines flight from Phnom Penh to Hanoi on 12 November (1805 direct flight, 3 pax).

Cheapest was BravoFly (not by much) but a million "don't do it warnings" on the web. Student Flights seemed least risk and not far off cheapest for us.

Student Flights is part of the Flight Centre group. I don't like the way this group operates, but if their offer suits you then go for it. Remember their "we will beat any price" deal.
