Just wondering why Qantas does not change the colour of the skins of its pages when you reach different status levels? I think it would be a nice touch and for unknown reasons expected this to happen once I reached silver lol.

They colour code everything else, why doesn't your page change when you have signed in as you move through the "ranks":?:

Nice idea! Citibank does exactly this with your online banking page once you hit "Gold" status so it can't be hard to do.

I guess they're happy with doing it when you get the email (that is coloured). Velocity also change the colour of the Velocity Rewards logo depending on your level.

Personally I think that's enough. Else, it's just a DYKWIA factor if you're in the lounge or somewhere public, so people can know who you are (and what elite level you have) :P

My Citibank banking does not have any special colours though Berlin, so not sure if it's all their products that would do this (I just get the god awful interface in the awful colours ;))

I think this fits in with a number of other things that would be nice, but aren't really important overall. Sure, they could be implemented easily and quickly, but there are other more pressing matters. I'm thinking of the LTG on the boarding pass thread among others here.

I recall the old Velocity site used to change more than the new one.

Mhm. Mine had suddenly changed to gold once I had surpassed a certain threshold of money in my account. Will go back down to normal once I spend the money ;)

I never have cash in my Citibank account. I have a CC with them (but I opened a new account with them the other week, just haven't received the debit card after 3 weeks yet).

Simple - because they would actually have to care what you think, and they don't. And I have no confidence their IT team could even make it happen without messing it up and taking 3 years. They can't even get the reward destinations sorted out properly!

Well if they do this then Qantas, throw me a freaking bone for suggesting it please!!!

Yeah that's not quite so simple. You're talking about integrating back-end systems that are far more complex than a simple CSS style sheet. You're also integrating res systems, and other things. Nothing is as simple as it seems (and don't forget about bureaucracy and red tape!).

Mind you, QF can't get CSS sheets right, so what hope do we have (still don't think a DYKWIA factor is really required; it clearly shows you what elite status you have when you look at your summary).
