'SMH'/'The Age' have just posted a lengthy article stating that six of JQi's 11 B788s are inoperable.

There are numerous cancellations and delays recorded in the applicable JQ thread on AFF, but I hadn't bothered to look up the individual JQ aircraft rego numbers to see which ones had not flown for a week.

A shocking situation, and not just affecting travellers on the Bali routes.

VKG was delayed overnight out of HNL and finally left yesterday. We fly out of HNL on Monday so we're watching with interest.

They have now ceased selling all Bali flights for the next month. Unknown what will actually go ahead, I assume they will consolidate with what bookings/aircraft they have.

With another 787 now off for engineering, problems galore it seems for the foreseeable future.

Seems the A320s from Perth are all zeroed out as well..... the first week of Oct at least

Looks like the next available flights for sale on all of Jetstar's routes to Bali are on 17 October.

No doubt some of those flights are fully booked, but I assume Jetstar has decided not to sell the remaining seats while its operations are a shambles and there are still people stuck in Bali who need seats on flights home.

The good news is that 9 of 11 Jetstar 787s are back in service as of today. Jetstar says the other two will be back soon.

The recent thread JQ flight "Not available" vs "Sold out " discussed this. You can see this in action where some are showing as sold out and others not available:

Have been keeping an eye on the delays as we've heading over at the end of Oct, and noticed DPS-BNE finally had a cancellation yesterday. In these cases are you simply stuck at the airport until JQ organises the next flight however long that takes (a day or more?) or do they at least put you up somewhere nearby?

A friend was cancelled on JQ8 SIN-MEL last week. New flight 24 hours later operating as JQ1008. No hotel accommodation was offered / arranged.

That's not what Jetstar has been telling the media:
All I know is my friend was pretty much the first in line at the customer service counter...and they made their own arrangements for a nearby hotel...they said accomm wasn't offered.

That's not what Jetstar has been telling the media:
Perhaps it's a bit of creative wording but I'd imagine they just mean the usual Jetstar $150/night self-organised accomodation that you can expensive with them.

That sounds correct...$150 was definitely mentioned....noting that the airport hotels (Yo! and Crowne Plaza) are typically $300+ these days.

And now BNE-DPS is operating on the A320 for a little bit…a friend just received an email from Jetstar saying their flights in November have been switched to an A320.

The Australian has just picked up that story.
Jetstar says that it has had to make changes to flights as it is adding a new aircraft to its ranks, noting the rescheduling issues are not because of the engineering issues which plagued the airline through September.

“With the arrival of our brand new, next generation A321LR (NEO) aircraft earlier this year, we have made some adjustments to our international schedule, with some of our Boeing 787 Dreamliner services to Denpasar now being operated by the new NEO,” a spokesperson said.

It also confirmed some customers had been kicked off flights due to the changes to its scheduling, saying this was because of the addition of the NEO aircraft to its fleet.
“Given the NEO is a smaller aircraft compared to our Boeing 787, a small number of passengers have been rebooked on an alternative service, with the majority travelling within 24 hours of their original flight,” the spokesperson said.

There is some method to the madness.

From 2 Nov until 30 Nov, JQ will operate an A320 from BNE to DPS (and DPS to BNE) on a Tue, Wed and Fri.

It retains the same JQ57 and JQ58 numbers but a slightly earlier DPS-BNE departure time when operated by the A320.

JQ57 BNE to DPS
787 dep 7:20am arr 11:15am
A320 dep 7:20am arr 11:15am

JQ58 DPS to BNE
787 dep 2:15pm arr 10:05pm
A320 dep 12:45pm arr 8:25pm

Note from SYD to DPS it's still all 787s and oddly from MEL to DPS all Nov flights are 787s, couldn't see the A321neos scheduled at all.

Seems to be like they are trying to avoid that long overnight layover in BNE with the 787.

Saw one 788 in the hanger in MEL yesterday, flew JQ7 ( on time) VKF, couldn’t believe the amount of tape all over the wing, while only cosmetic lots of people were commenting
