Sigh, here I was hoping for an elegant solution to my problem, but alas its not to be.

Tried to book via the VA site a return full J fare trip from BNE to SIN. I get a selection with respective stops in both SYD and MEL, but it wont allow me to go via SYD outbound and return via MEL in the one booking. Was hoping to have a quick meeting in the MEL lounge before heading home. Also sneakily wanted to try both the 77W and 388 and do a comparison. Separate bookings and fee charges it is then.

Was that using the VA multi city booking or just the simple return one?

The IT people have been busy everywhere lately. As well as numerous VA web site issues - today I found out that the JQ web site can't do connecting one way flights eg. ADL-BNE-TSV or MEL-SYD-CNS anymore - the JQ web site could do it last week but its a bridge too far this week. Called the JQ booking line and they can't do it either!

Simple return, multi leg is only for domestic. I think its some sort of cost thing, who knows. If i select an outbound from MEL i can get the return via MEL, same for SYD, but not mixed....

That's right - I remember that now too - multi leg for domestic flights only. The 'web site cannot do it' so not paying booking/assistance fees usually works if you call VA call centre, hang up and call again if not?

also, if i book via the SQ site, will i get credited SCs on Virgin, or just the points.

Points and SCs. But no sectors or WP bonus.
