Singapore restaurants

We’ve got 5 nights in SIN before Christmas and travelling with family so we’re after some suggestions. Our makeup is two couples in their 40s, accompanying parents 70ish and two kids aged 7 and 9. If we’re in AU a flash pub or steak house would be the go, but not sure if such thing exists in SIN? Fine dining etc won’t really be suitable for this trip. Affordable quality is what we are after.

One of the party has a special birthday so willing to stretch the budget for one night. What can you suggest?
