Singapore rescheduled flights, connecting flight waitlisted??

Hi everyone! I'd really appreciate any help/advice over Singapore rescheduling flights

So last night I received an email informing me that my (J award booking) flight SQ 327 from Munich to Singapore has been rescheduled to depart 40 minutes earlier than the original time, which is fine, no problem with that, however the email then said I would have to re-book my connecting flight back to Sydney.

I gave them a call and when I requested to re-book my connection I was told that all flights can only be waitlisted and there were no confirmed flights available! The agent told me he could only waitlist my connecting flight for me, and now I'm not sure what to do next

Does this problem occur often? Seems a bit unfair to have a confirmed connecting flight re-booked to a waitlist for a change I did not initiate myself

Post on Facebook or ask them to escalate to make space available for you and find a solution. Really SQ are getting quite pathetic on the ground. You shouldn't have lost your confirmed SYD award just because the MUC flight moved 40 mins earlier.

You will not have lost your seat mp - call back and speak to an agent again - if no joy insist on speaking to a team leader - insist - be pleasant but forceful - earlier rescheduling of one sector will never cancel second sector on that booking.

Thanks for your quick responses dajop & Cruiser Elite! It did seem a bit off, just rang them again and it appears that the first agent I spoke to misunderstood what I meant, the new agent was very apologetic (probably an understatement) and was able to sort it out.

The panic definitely set in when I saw 'waitlisted' instead of confirmed after checking online, but after the second call I got the confirmed flight back. The agent also reconfirmed that I got my seat preferences back which is a huge relief. It definitely pays to be polite!

originally departing 13:00 rescheduled to 12:20

It also seems that the connecting flight SIN-SYD had an aircraft change from the 777-300ER to the A380 which is a bit of a bummer, I originally had seat 11K booked for that flight

Glad that it worked out for you. Some SQ phone agents aren't that great, so as you've found out pays to call again! I believe the schedule change is associated with changes to flight later this year that see it terminating in MUC rather than continuing to MAN.
