Exposed ceilings, concrete floors - very industrial.
Shared dining tables ???

How did you get the photos - looks like a media event?

If I told you that I'd have to kill you ;)

EDIT: But seriously, Neil Perry posted them on his Twitter feed around half an hour ago.

Mmm.. Finished?? With or without the ceiling panels?
Replicating the DFO image.. With the retro bar chairs.. Though the bar selection looks impressive
Look forward to a visit.

Hope it has something better than the Johnny Walker black that was in the old lounge

Cheers for the responses Guys.

If I don't make gold in time, might try and slam down my QC lounge pass (once off visit gifted to silvers) if it ain't expired yet.

Thanks for these. Not 100% sold on the canteen style dining tables and exposed ceiling but it certainly has a style rather than just being a lounge. Looking forward to higher quality pics!

Not sure if NP has done Qantas any favours with those pics; looks pretty ordinary to me. Wouldn't be impressed if the SYD & MEL FLounges were re-modelled along the lines in the pics.

From first glance it has more style than the EK lounge.

I don't mind the open roof. After spending hours in a metal tube it's good to have extra air 'up there'. Will check it out in August. Certainly better than the original F lounge which was just a series of boxy rooms although I did like the dining area.

I won't pass judgement til I've used it (in June) but by looking at those pics, it is very bland and shared tables what the?

I can feel Elbow knocking coming on....

Last thing I want to do after a long flight waiting for a connecting flight is to sit at a big table with a bunch of others. Looks more like my local 'RSL'.
Though again I won't pass final judgement til I've been in there.. Look forward to members reports tomorrow!

At first view the exposed ceiling is interesting... I wouldn't have thought such a design would be allowed in an airport, but it is fairly tall.

Looking forward to seeing more photos in time.

I'd be very surprised if the open roof stayed. Surely it's not yet complete.

Given it opens tomorrow....12 days after is should have & the ceiling is painted - I'm calling thats the final design.

Might be a little loud & a good echo!

And that it looks like it's a proper finish where the "link" of the exposed section to the unexposed section at the bar. I would imagine it to be the final design.

I guess they are going for the converted warehouse feel, but it doesn't look to be very comfortable. Perhaps it's a design that would appeal to the gen Ys. As for myself, while I'm not a fan of the caramel colour, it looks like I'll be camping out in the EK lounge instead.

Nope, have a look at the pics. The open roof section has been designed for that purpose. All the services are neat and painted with lights suitible for an open roof. The 3rd picture though does show part with a ceiling that looks like a little bit of work still needs to be done near the wall on the left, but that is different to the other two areas that are open. Besides the open look suits the other "industrial" look touches such as the polished concrete floor.
