Hi all,

Earlier in the year prior to the QF/BA divorce I booked a BN-SIN-BN PE trip ticketed via BA but to be flown on QF metal for my wife and myself. Currently as a PS QP member on a PE ticket I now find that I cannot access the QP in BNE or SIN. Additionally, the upgrade requests to J that were accepted online earlier in the year have now been dropped and cannot be re-requested.

I am not too concerned about the upgrade requests or the BN QP access but would really appreciate seeing the new SIN lounge, especially as we have a 7 hr stop in SIN on the return leg. If anyone is in SIN on 20 Nov between 1300-2000 hrs and could guest us in that would be amazing!

Cheers,
suchi

Hi Suchidog
Yes I was surprised at this change too. I have had (work policy - domestic QF but international cheapest seat) regularly traveled on BA and CX Y and Y+, if I fall back to PS and QP option, I would not be allowed in. I thought this was one of the strengths of QP membership that we could access QFi lounges when travelling on Oneworld alliance metal. It certainly devalues the QP cost / benefit ratio and would probably not bother in future.

Sorry cannot help you with SIN, have you put the request in the Meetings and Social Events for the month of November, more people will see it there.

Good luck

Andy, QP membership has never been a blanket purchase in to OW lounges, but BA, AA and QF lounges.

Currently the QF and AA options still stand technically.

Thanks Andyzx I will put a post in the meetings and social events and see if I have any luck.

If your booking was ticketed prior to the changes then Qantas club access in can be arranged in such circumstances.

This has been stated by Red Roo elsewhere on this forum.

I suggest you contact RedRoo by PM ASAP pointing to this thread and asking for assistance.

This access would best be oganised well before departure.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks serfty. I will ask Red Roo however I have spoken to the QFF helpdesk phone number who said there was nothing they could do to give access......maybe Red Roo can work their magic?

There is often misinformation spouted by Qantas CSA. I hope you noted the time and date of call as well as the name of the person you spoke to.

As frequent flyers your response will probably be that they should have known better, but these aren't platinums, these were just normal bronze flyers that took their occasional trip, and made sure their spend and loyalty stayed with Qantas. They had already booked their AU-FRA ticket before the Emirates deal took place, so they're just another unlucky casualty. Nobody told them there was no longer access at Frankfurt.

They were eroded the BA lounge access but they kept sticking with Qantas, but this is the end now for them. They have a Qantas Club Life Membership...
There were guidelines in place for customers in this situation. Without their details and associated privacy reasons, I cannot comment on their position.

However I would encourage your friends to get in touch with our Customer Care team about this experience. They'll be able to investigate the circumstances specific to their booking, and discuss the options for them moving forward.

I rang them up and complained when my flight was changed from a direct flight to HG to via Sing, they let me into the QP whilst my flight on CX was ready to go .

Was that just to the regular QFF QP number bobe?

Yes the usuall number, but be insistent as it is NO fault of yours, I was fobbed off and insisted I spoke to a supervisor, dig your heals in.

Is this for a QF operated flight but on a BA flight number and there is no Qantas lounge access as a Qantas Club member?

Yes, but according to the OP, booked before the pertership with EK. QF metal on BA flight numbers.

Going by previous posts by Red Roo on related issues, QP lounge access should be able to be negotiated.

I have put the question to Red Roo so I will see what comes of it.
