EDIT: Apologies mods, I thought I was posting in the "Airline Lounges" part of the forum, I'm not sure how I stuffed it to post in "Destination Guides"! Could this be moved to the right spot?

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but all I could find were threads from many years ago.

I'm flying SQ J on an overnight flight (part of the midnight-1am bank of departures) from SIN back to Australia in mid-April, and I've been reading online about the overcrowding at T3 Silverkris lounge. I was wondering how bad it is, and if it's worth going to another lounge instead? I have Priority Pass and Amex Platinum so I could go to:
- Silverkris T2 or T3 (using my SQ J ticket)
- Krisflyer Gold T2 or T3 (using my SQ J ticket)
- Marhaba T1 or T3 (PP)
- Ambassador Transit T2 or T3 (PP)
- SATS Premier T1, T2 or T3 (PP)
- Plaza Premium T1 (Amex Platinum)

While I have been lounge-hopping in Singapore previously, that was pre-COVID and I believe most (if not all) of the lounges have changed since then so I'm not sure what they're like these days.

I realise it is somewhat subjective, but is it worth hanging out at some other lounges prior to going to Silverkris T3 later in the evening (I'm assuming it starts to quieten down after 11pm once people start going to the gate for the European departures)? I'll probably be getting to the airport at around 9pm, which is when I understand Silverkris T3 is busiest.

What might be useful would be feedback like:
- Don't worry about going to the other lounges, they're all full like Silverkris at that time anyway,
- The other lounges you can go to are all rubbish, and you should still go to Silverkris despite it being packed, or
- If you have access to _____ lounge due to PP/Amex, then go there because it's heaps better.

I was in the Silver Kris lounge a few weeks ago and it was very crowded but we were still able to sit comfortably and have some food and drinks. I was a bit shocked at the amount of people but it is a very big transit hub and we are not the only people collecting points 🤣 It sounds like we were on a similar flight SQ 231. If you stress about these things it can take away the enjoyment of travel, we met people from other parts of the world that we otherwise wouldnt have and thats one the beauties of travel.

You probably realise but your Jetstar flight will leave from T4
Thanks, but I’m not flying Jetstar this time around :)

Good to know, thanks! I might swing by and see how we go in the first instance then!

@pangwen , I flew on one of those midnightish flights to SYD ealier this month, arriving from KL about 9pm. I only had *G lounge access and in T3 when I arrived, it was busy but not packed.

I ensconced myself at one of the work deskish things at the north end of the lounge. (I prefer desk/table to lounge chairs.)

It did get very crowded by around 10:30pm.

So, while every night can be different, if you are there early enough you should be fine.

Thanks @serfty, sounds like a good plan. We’ll aim to get in early :)

Reference point- I was on midnight departure from T3. SilverKris lounge was extremely busy. Few seats and 1hr wait for a shower. Gold lounge looked quite but I was denied entry as an SQ Gold carrying a J ticket. While the lounge was busy, it was kind of nice being at the bar talking to strangers or watching the F1 with a large group.

However SKL this morning arriving just before 1000 is the most deserted I have seen it.

Yes very few departures between 10 and noon. I've taken SQ 217 (to MEL @11:10) and SQ 326 (to FRA @ 10:55) a few times each over the last twelve months, and the F lounge is usually emptying out as I arrive around 9-9:30 am. The other departures include 10:50 to KTM, 11:45 to TPE 12:10 to JFK and 12:35 to LHR. But always tranquil at that time of morning.

I’ve mentioned in another thread that our experiences this year we preferred the T2 SKL over the T3 SKL. Granted the T3 lounge is visually more impressive , we found the T2 lounge quieter, no wait for the shower, good and drink’s reasonable.
