Hi Guys,

Thought i would put this thread in here hoping for your help.

Im a silver member FF with VA (soon to be gold :)) and am flying back from Singpore on SQ in October, as its a midnight departure time we will be spending the day looking around the city.

My question is as im not currently able to visit the SQ lounge due to not enough status at this stage, where is the best place to have a shower and get refreshed before boarding the flight after running around town all day...

Hi Guys,

My question is as im not currently able to visit the SQ lounge due to not enough status at this stage, where is the best place to have a shower and get refreshed before boarding the flight after running around town all day...

There are a couple of paid-entry lounges in Singapore, they're basic but fairly cheap and clean, and if you're anything like me then after a day in Singapore you'll definitely want a shower before getting on a plane.

I used the "SATS Premier Lounge" shower and I think it only cost about $10.

NB even if you were gold or platinum, you won't get access to a lounge in Singapore (Flying SQ) which has showers - the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge doesn't even have a toilet in it. (That's the situation I was in this year, hence I paid). Only J pax on SQ get access to the SilverKris lounge in Singapore.

Hope this helps.

There are shower areas throughout the departure lounges at the airport. Another option is to book a room at the transit hotel, you can book them in 6 hour slots for approx. AUD80 - gives you access to the roof top pool as well. Harilela Hospitality

Thanks Guys,

which side are this lounges on. ie are they before or after immigration??? Just need to sort out if to take the clean clothes with me on carry on or they can be put into checked luggage..

Not that it maters this time but thought as a gold VA FF when flying SQ you got access to KrisFlyer Gold Lounges at Changi Airport, Singapore... from the website the pics look nice, am surprised to hear it doesn't have a toilet

Lounges are "airside" but you don't go through security until you are entering the gate lounges

Thanks again guys, some good info,

Just to double check im reading this correct, does this mean that i can have a shower with my bags then go back down stairs to checkin or does it mean i have to check my bags in first then take the change with me on carry on???

The shower I used was after customs (airside). I don't know of showers before customs (landside) but they might exist.
I carried my change of clothes with me when I went through last time.

The KF*GL is not spectacular when compared with the SKL, which wins hands down 5x

You could access certain lounges as well if you have the right credit card. Some of them (e.g. rainforest in T1) would have showering facilities.

+1 Agreed.
Also the fact that the KF*GL can get quite busy in the evenings..
It is not overly special in comfort & food/drink offerings.
