Hi Guys,

need some advice on lounge access for a trip next week. We're flying Singapore from Sydney to coughet via Singapore economy and wanted to organise lounge access in both Sydney and Singapore. Im a QF Club member but know that means nothing with Singapore. What is the best way to access the Singapore lounges in Sydney and Singapore?

Can i still purchase MapleLeaf or United Club Memberships and use the them to access the Singapore Lounges in Sydney and Singapore?

Thanks in advance

JT

Probably best to post these questions in the lounge threads or airport lounge forum.

Priority Pass should get you access to some lounges. Probably too late now but check their website on which lounges you can access.

In SYD there is a lounge that Amex card holders can access although not sure what flavour card you need to access.

SIN may have a pay lounge you can access but unless your transit is long the terminal is a fine place to wait. Plenty of things to do and cheap food.

Also look at the Changi Dollars program. http://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/promotions/transit-promotion/

You get 2 vouchers of SGD20, one of which can be used for lounge access. I have no idea if that lounge is any good.

The first of the S$20 CDVs is valid for one-time use at all retail, food and service outlets located at the transit and public areas excluding outlets indicated in the Exclusion List. It can also be redeemed for one-time access to Ambassador Lounge at Terminals 2 and 3 for up to two hours. Lounge usage includes showers with basic toiletries, light refreshments, free flow international reading materials, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi.

Carefully check the other eligibility requirements.

Another option might be to purchase a cheap jetstar flight to throw away, and then use the Qantas lounge. but there is a significant moral dimension to that option. I don't think I'd take this option myself, but it is still an option.

I would say get Priority Pass, at least you have more options. If you have Amex Black via Westpac its included but you need to apply through the website.

You have two paid lounges (that you can use without any card or FF), in Singapore. I have merely been to Ambassador Lounge before it was upgraded and it was really no hit. Really bad even. Bad food and bad coffee. Unless you want a shower I say save your money. Ever since then I have always just parked myself at a cafe instead as there are several good ones in Singapore.
You have heaps to do if you want to stroll around, and they have free Wifi everywhere. Changi is an easy airport to spend time in.
