"Singapore Airlines is pausing its plans to launch non-stop flights between Sydney and Jakarta: a route which was to commence in only two weeks’ time on November 23.
According to an emailed media statement, the Indonesian civil aviation authorities have temporarily withdrawn their approval for the new route due to “runway maintenance works” at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

“SIA will progressively contact customers with bookings on this route and help put them on other flights,” Singapore Airlines’ statement reads. “The airline apologises for the inconvenience caused to our customers.”

Sigh. I only just booked a J redemption SIN-SYD via CGK for first week of January. Maybe this means I don't have to go back to work...

Many would say that you could have lucked in as in all likelihood will be transferred to SIN-SYD non stop service if it is not operating by then. More problematic for those just doing CGK-SYD.

Well, that will curtail some of the Award options currently displaying on Aeroplan!

Yes this is great for me as well, the only award I could get was via CGK to sin now I'm confirmed in J direct )) lucky me.
