A few weeks ago, around 18 Feb, SQ announced posted a list of cancelled services. see for instance the thread

Without any announcement, as far as I can see, that list has been steadily growing. compare for instance as of today at
which pretends to be the same document but which has a whole lot more cancelled services than originally listed.

We are currently booked (paid not award) CBR-SIN-IST and return. Today I checked the flight loadings (bdm.com) and discovered there was no data for the flight segments SIN-IST and return on our booked dates. see the thread

Checking seating allocations of SQ showed that 14 or 24 seats in PE were not booked.

Aside from the lack of loading details, SQ are not accepting bookings on these sectors in any class. It leads me to the conclusion that these sectors have been cancelled but SQ have not yet had the courtesy to let anyone know just yet.

In the next few days, we are due to pay significant and non-refundable accommodation and tour fees which will be lost if SQ changes the travel dates. So after an hour on hold, I got to speak to a SQ reservations employee by the name of Danish. After being put on hold yet again for an extended period, he advised that sectors we are due to fly are not cancelled at this time and if they are subsequently cancelled we will receive an email. He repeatedly failed/refused to provide any explanation for the refusal to accept new bookings whilst there are clearly seats available.

It appears to me that SQ has already decided to cancel these sectors but won't tell customers so as to shoehorn them into other more convenient (for SQ) flights at the last moment. IMHO it is a great way to ruin passengers' plans and presumably shift the cost from SQ to travel insurers. Says a lot about their ethics and/or concern for passengers vis-a-vis their own profitability.

Sometimes they zero out flights to reaccommodate others on cancelled flights around them, you never know. I did notice on the outbound that same day (although opposite end of the day) Turkish was not selling any business class seats either (but was selling economy seats).

On your last comment, not suggesting SQ is any position compared to these, but when you don't care so much about your profitability this is what can happen .....

We are flying back from LHR to SIN on 31/5.One of the flights has been cancelled but ours wasn't that flight.Ours though is the last flight of the day.The only cabin open for sales on our flight is PE.They obviously have kept seats to reaccommodate those from the cancelled flight.

It was updated on 26 Feb.

Ive been following their FB page for the most recent cancellation announcements - last updated Feb 26.

New cancellation info up on Twitter & their website, but not Facebook yet that I could see.
somehow we managed to luck out and our SIN-FCO flight on 18 March is the only direct one that week still flying. Load much higher now than it was a couple of days ago though, unsurprisingly.

Been cancelled for the second time now SIN - JNB. 1 April SQ482 cancelled and moved to 29 March, now that’s gone. Grrrrr.

Does anyone have a cancelled flight and not being contacted about it? I'm on SQ226 departing 31/5 which has been cancelled. Heard nothing about alternatives though. Do I need to contact them?

You could go to manage flights on their website - that's where we found their suggested alternatives to our cancelled flight. Unfortunately the alternatives didn't suit us so we were promised a refund after we contacted their phone service - and waited 1hr 50.

I just tried to cancel an award booking online.... they were going to refund me the taxes plus charge me $114 AU per passenger to have the KF points re-instated... which is a bit rough considering the flight cancellation was beyond my control.

On hold for 4 minutes and through to a rep who cancelled the booking told me it will take up to 4 weeks for the refund to appear and apparently no charge to have the points back. Very happy with the whole process and efficiency after a 6 hour chat with Qantas on messenger.

Yes - this happened to me and yes I'd recommend calling them. They are busy with Covid-19 etc and it took me an hour to get through but it was all sorted quickly once I got through. Before ringing manage my booking looked absolutely normal.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes, that's right. One of the legs was already cancelled so I decided to cancel whole booking. Points back and surcharges all back which I was very happy with. Singapore Airlines T & C's state you sometime s need to pay to get the points back but they waived this once I called.

Had a similar booking with Qantas and they charged me 5,000 QFF per passenger to cancel plus surcharges all back.

We just cancelled our flights booked with points. They said they will refund everything - points and tax's and no fees. He did mention this was because we are travelling with kids though, so not sure if this would apply to just adults. Hotel in SG also refunded in full a "non-refundable" booking.

Have a flight to Vietnam and returning from Cambodia in May but don't fancy being "self isolated" over there. Booked last year and points now expired. Hoping for some goodwill re the points!
